Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking a Pre field Design Engineer Specialist in Mohali/Gurugram to conduct fiber optic detailed network design for Fiber to the Home projects. You will apply AT&T standards, use GIS/IQ Geo, and coordinate with fielding staff to finalize detailed designs for field placement of fiber infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or related qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience in OSP fiber detailed planning.
• Knowledge/experience in ARC GIS or ARC mapping preferred.
• Experience interpreting client requests and applying design standards.
• Familiar with fiber build construction.
• Knowledge/experience with Web Applications and GIS design domain.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
• Flexible and able to resolve design issues and make decisions.
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Functions as a technical specialist with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, document and adhere to Client design requirements.
• Support design team in generating detailed network drawings in GIS/IQ Geo software while supporting ongoing design needs.
• Coordinate with the fielding team on site visit schedules and data gathering requirements.
• Create high level preliminary route design and facility specifics to manage fielding requests.
• Perform detailed OSP designs adhering to AT&T regional and general design standards.
• Mentor other design team members.
• Perform design within allocated time frames.
• Provide updates on progress and roadblocks to the lead.
• Contribute to process improvement concepts.
• Provide detailed design in GIS/IQ based systems.
• Review designs for quality and optimization.
• Support design via jurisdiction permits, ROW/UE information.

Job Summary:

The Pre field Design Engineer Specialist is responsible for conducting fiber optic detailed network design for Fiber to the Home projects for AT&T. It requires an in-depth understanding of current fiber optic design standards of AT&T and its Apex Practices. It also requires a working knowledge of a GIS based design support software program (ARC GIS / IQ GEO) and close coordination with site fielding staff and graphics personnel to support the final product. Typical OSP design responsibilities range from the initial determination of the pathway routing and construction alternatives based on site walkouts to final detailed design generation. The PFD engineer is fully responsible and accountable for the final design content and document generation to support the placement of the physical fiber infrastructure in the Field according to Regional and standard Practices of AT&T.

Duties/Responsibilities
