Role Summary
The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and supervision of offshore pipeline systems and its auxiliary accessories installation. The role ensures that pipelines are designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned according to project specifications, codes, and safety standards. The Pipeline Engineer works closely with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, structural, and project management) to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective pipeline design and installation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and review pipeline systems including layout, routing, supports, and stress analysis.
- Prepare detailed pipeline engineering drawings, material specifications, and design calculations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API, ISO, DNV, etc.).
- Conduct hydraulic calculations, flow analysis, and pressure drop assessments.
- Review vendor/fabricator drawings and material submittals for compliance with project specifications.
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers to resolve interface issues.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure pipeline integrity, safety, and reliability.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project coordination sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of design, calculations, and revisions.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Petroleum, or Piping Engineering.
- Professional certification or membership (PE, CEng, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in pipeline design and engineering for oil & gas, EPC, or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in pipeline design and stress analysis software (CAESAR II, Auto PIPE, PIPEPHASE, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in stress analysis, routing, support, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and process flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with welding, NDE, coating, and corrosion protection techniques.
- Knowledge of construction, commissioning, and maintenance practices for pipelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Proactive approach in identifying and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Concept / FEED Preliminary layout, hydraulic calculations, and route selection.
- Detailed Design Prepare isometrics, P&IDs, stress analysis, material specs, and drawings.
- Procurement & Fabrication Review vendor drawings, MTRs, and technical submittals.
- Construction / Installation Provide site support, resolve technical queries, and supervise installation.
- Commissioning / Handover Ensure pipeline integrity, testing, and documentation completion.
