Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. in Haryana invites an experienced Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Control Engineer to design, develop and validate control strategies for HEV powertrains, integrating engine, motor and battery management for optimal performance.

You will work with a cross-functional team, perform HIL testing, system benchmarking, and ensure compliance with AIS and ISO standards; relocation flexibility is expected to support project needs.

Qualifications

  • BE/BTech in electrical, electronics, mechanical or automotive engineering.
  • ME/MTech with relevant electives related to HEV systems.
  • Experience or academic project in HEV system design or testing.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops and tests control system for hybrid powertrains.
  • Prepare functions and control algorithms including state transition, torque control, and thermal management.
  • Engine and HCU software verification and validation.
  • Identify system requirements and calibration items with system team.
  • Perform functional testing, benchmarking and DOE creation.
  • Develop HEV control strategies including engine, motor and battery management.
  • Integrate hardware/software components within HEV system for reliable operation.
  • Analyze performance data and optimize control strategies for efficiency and fuel economy.
  • Resolve technical issues in HEV control systems.

JOB ROLE:

Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Control Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs, develops and tests control system for hybrid powertrains.

Prepare functions and Control algorithms such as State transition Diagram & Conditions, Torque control (Protection & restriction), Thermal behavior estimations & management, Vehicle Controls, functional safety, and cyber security.

Engine and HCU Software Verification and Validation

Work with System team to identify the system requirements, electrical interfaces & calibration items

Perform functional testing, System/Component/Vehicle Benchmarking. Create DOE for testing and benchmarking.

Develop control strategies for HEV systems, including engine control, integration of motor control and battery management at vehicle level optimizing performance and responsiveness.

Integrate hardware and software components within HEV system, ensuring seamless communication and operation.

Analyze system performance data and identify areas of improvement, optimizing control strategies for efficiency and fuel economy.

Identify and resolve technical issues within HEV control systems, ensuring reliable operation.

COMPETENCY REQUIRMENTS TECHNICAL /FUNCTIONAL/ BEHAVIOURAL
  • In depth understanding of HEV vehicle architecture, modelling and simulations and design considerations including engine, motor, battery and power electronics.
  • Exposure to Hybrid / Electric Powertrain Control Design, development, Verification and Validation.
  • Experience in testing at controller level (HIL), bench and vehicle level for HEV system and components.
  • Vehicle dynamics using MATLAB/Simulink or any other similar tool.
  • Exposure to Regulations, and Standards of HEV/EV such as AIS 041, AIS038, AIS102, AIS137
  • Work experience in functional safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity (ISO434)
  • Proactive with excellent analytical capability
  • Should be able to work in large teams and dedication for timely completion of projects
  • Should be opened to posting anywhere as per the job requirement
