Job summary

SEI is seeking a talented Power BI Developer (Software Engineer III) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver insightful dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications include 6+ years with Power BI and SQL Server/Cosmos DB, expertise in DAX and Power Query, and experience with end-to-end Power BI implementations in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or above in CS/IS/Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of Power BI and MS SQL Server/Cosmos DB experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, publish, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and visuals.
• Work with SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and cloud services (Azure, etc.).
• Optimize dashboards for usability and performance.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts to iterate reporting needs.
• Build, deploy and maintain data models using Power Query (M), DAX, and Power BI datasets.
• Provide technical support and documentation.

SEI is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Power BI Developer (Software Engineer III) to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, deploy and maintain scalable BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver insightful, visually compelling dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decision-making.

What you will do:

• Develop, publish, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and produce effective visualizations
• Work with various data sources including SQL Server, CosmosDB, Snowflake, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and cloud services (Azure, etc.)
• Optimize dashboards with a focus on usability and performance
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and other data governance protocols
• Collaborate with business analysts to iterate reporting needs
• Build, Deploy and Maintain data models using Power Query (M), DAX, and Power BI datasets.
• Provide technical support and documentation

What we need from you:

• Very strong Power BI development skills including Power BI Desktop (report development)
• Power BI Service (publishing, workspaces, sharing)
• Strong T-SQL and Query Language for Cosmos DB skills for writing, debugging, and tuning stored procedures, views, and SQL queries.
• Strong Power Query skills (M Language)
• Experience in at least one full end-to-end PowerBI implementation
• Experience in fabric workspace and deployment process
• Knowledge on workspace configuration and access control
• Experience with data modeling
• Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, KPIs

What we would like from you:

• Bachelor’s (or above) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience with Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server programming or Cosmos DB
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
