Persistent Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, migrate, and optimize interactive dashboards, reports, and semantic models. The role requires hands-on Power BI Desktop and Service experience, data modelling, DAX, and SQL expertise.

You will collaborate with data engineers and analysts within an Agile delivery setup to deliver scalable BI solutions, ensure data quality, and support business decision-making.

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI development, data modelling, DAX, SQL, and report migration projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, migrating, and optimizing interactive dashboards, reports, and semantic models that support business decision-making. The role requires hands‑on experience in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data visualization, report migration, and performance tuning. You will work closely with business users, data engineers, architects, and analytics teams to deliver scalable and high‑performing reporting solutions while ensuring data quality, governance, and best practices.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
• Participate in enterprise report modernization and migration initiatives.
• Migrate reports from legacy BI platforms to Power BI while ensuring functional and visual consistency.
• Gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into effective analytical solutions.
• Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and business calculations.
• Build robust data models using dimensional modeling and star schema principles.
• Develop data transformation and data preparation processes using Power Query (M Language).
• Integrate Power BI with databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses, and enterprise applications.
• Create reusable reporting frameworks and dashboard standards across business units.
• Publish, schedule, manage, and monitor reports using Power BI Service.
• Implement row‑level security, workspace management, and governance policies.
• Troubleshoot dashboard, report, and dataset issues to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Perform report and dataset performance tuning to improve scalability and user experience.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks during migration projects.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders within Agile delivery teams.
• Support deployment, release management, and production support activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and reporting standards.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 4–6 years of experience in Power BI development, Business Intelligence, or Analytics solutions.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Extensive experience in Data Modelling, DAX, and Power Query (M Language).
• Strong SQL programming, querying, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑scale Power BI dashboard and reporting solutions.
• Hands‑on experience in report migration and BI modernization projects.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts including Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, and Star Schema design.
• Experience building complex dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and executive reporting solutions.
• Knowledge of data transformation, cleansing, and validation processes.
• Experience integrating Power BI with multiple data sources including SQL databases, cloud platforms, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of Power BI deployment strategies, security models, and workspace administration.
• Experience implementing row‑level security, dataset refresh schedules, and governance controls.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based data and analytics architectures.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Data Lakes, or modern analytics platforms is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile and cross‑functional delivery environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to independently manage reporting requirements and deliver high‑quality BI solutions.
