Persistent Systems Limited in Pune seeks an experienced Power BI Architect to lead enterprise BI solutions and oversee a MicroStrategy-to-Power BI migration program. You will define BI architecture standards and mentor teams.

The role requires 8–12 years in BI, strong Power BI/SQL Server expertise, and client-facing leadership in an Agile, enterprise delivery setting. Hybrid work arrangements and growth opportunities are available.

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Architect to design and lead enterprise-scale Business Intelligence solutions and support a large MicroStrategy-to-Power BI migration program. The ideal candidate will combine strong Power BI and SQL Server expertise with solution architecture, technical leadership, governance, and client-facing experience. This role will be responsible for defining BI architecture standards, driving migration initiatives, mentoring teams, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing analytics solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Analyze existing MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, metadata, and dependencies to define and execute migration strategies to Power BI.
• Design and own end-to-end Business Intelligence and Analytics architecture using Power BI and SQL Server.
• Define scalable semantic models, datasets, reporting frameworks, and enterprise BI standards.
• Architect and oversee the development of enterprise dashboards, reports, paginated reports, and reusable Power BI datasets.
• Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, security models, deployment strategies, and development best practices.
• Design and implement solutions utilizing DAX, Power Query, Row-Level Security (RLS), dataflows, gateways, and deployment pipelines.
• Lead migration planning, report rationalization, dependency analysis, effort estimation, validation, and post-migration optimization.
• Design and optimize SQL Server databases for analytical and reporting workloads.
• Review and optimize complex T-SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, and execution plans.
• Define and implement performance optimization strategies for reports, dashboards, datasets, semantic models, and data refresh processes.
• Conduct requirement gathering sessions, technical workshops, architecture reviews, and solution walkthroughs with business and client stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable BI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, design reviews, and mentoring to BI and Power BI development teams.
• Act as the coordination bridge between offshore and onshore teams for successful delivery execution.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, change requests, and stakeholder expectations throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business users, data engineers, database administrators, security teams, and analytics teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Drive adoption of GenAI-powered productivity tools for analytics development, documentation, migration analysis, and reporting modernization.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8-12 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Reporting, or Data Warehousing solutions.
• Strong expertise as a Power BI Architect, BI Technical Lead, or Solution Architect.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query, Semantic Models, Dataflows, and Row-Level Security.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server, T-SQL development, database design, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of enterprise BI architecture, reporting frameworks, governance models, and security implementation.
• Experience designing scalable data models and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Proven experience leading BI migration and modernization programs, preferably involving MicroStrategy to Power BI migrations.
• Expertise in report optimization, performance tuning, and large-scale BI platform management.
• Experience defining deployment standards, workspace strategies, security controls, and release management processes.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and analytics architecture.
• Excellent stakeholder management, client communication, presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring experience for distributed teams.
• Experience working in Agile and enterprise delivery environments.
• Ability to balance business objectives with technical excellence and governance requirements.
