Power BI Developer

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that drive data-informed decision‑making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and publish interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.
- Connect and transform data from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms) using Power Query.
- Build and maintain robust data models with optimized DAX measures and calculated columns.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and dashboards.
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Maintain documentation for data models, report logic, and data sources.
- Support self‑service analytics by training end users on Power BI tools and best practices.
- Work closely with data engineers and architects to align on data pipeline and warehouse standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power BI in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex measures and calculated fields.
- Strong experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation and cleansing.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, relationships).
- Experience connecting Power BI to various data sources including SQL Server, Azure, Excel, SharePoint, or REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Power BI workspace/governance best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills — ability to translate business questions into data solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics integration.
- Exposure to Power BI Embedded or paginated reports (SSRS).
- Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling.
