Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a seasoned Power BI Analyst to join the Digital Transformation & Analytics team in Chennai. You will design enterprise dashboards, build scalable reporting solutions, and connect multiple data sources to deliver insights for leadership and operations across global functions.

Ideal candidates will have strong Power BI, data modeling, DAX, SQL, and data integration skills, plus experience engaging with global stakeholders and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, data analytics, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or analytics.
• Minimum 4+ years of Power BI development experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale datasets and data modeling.
• Experience engaging with global stakeholders and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Power BI dashboards and scorecards.
• Connect and integrate data from multiple Caterpillar business systems and enterprise databases.
• Build semantic models, datasets, and reusable reporting frameworks.
• Develop advanced DAX measures and Power Query transformations.
• Create executive dashboards and KPI scorecards for leadership and operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define reporting solutions.
• Implement row-level security, governance, incremental refresh, and performance optimization.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
• Support Power BI workspace administration, deployment, and refresh management.
• Drive reporting automation and self-service analytics initiatives.
