Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Pune is seeking a Software Engineering Lead (BI, PowerBI) to drive delivery on the Data Platform within the Commercial products. This senior role requires hands-on development, architecture awareness and strong collaboration in an Agile environment.

You will work on back-end data processing, ETL, data warehousing, and reporting, with Java, SQL, and PowerBI. The candidate should have 7+ years of software engineering experience and be willing to lead cross-geography teams.

Role

Software Engineering Lead (BI, PowerBI)

This is a Senior Developer role for the Data Platform within the suite of Commercial products, based out of Pune. The developer is expected to drive and support the delivery of commercial solution in a fast paced Agile environment.

The nature of our projects is centred on back end system interactions, its highly database centric and involves file based and event based communications with Internal and 3rd party data providers and issuers/processors. There are Reporting and Analytics work involved. The Developer is expected to be dynamic, willing to learn and implement new technology and development methods.

• Development, review & deployment of projects
• Support applications, BizOps and Business with technical queries, troubleshooting and impact analysis
• Perform technical peer reviews and contribute to design discussions
• Participate & contribute in requirement elaboration sessions, design the solution, point the stories and deliver them within the iteration
• Break stories into smallest possible piece of work and contribute to elaborations, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Multitask and be able to work with teams across geographies
• Document learnings and knowledge capsules for long term benefit of the team

All About You

Overall 7+ years of Software Engineering experience

Strong experience with

• o BI Tools: PowerBI (3+ years of experience)
• o SQL: MS SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL (4+ years of experience)
• o Data Processing (ETL concepts)
• o Data Warehousing (includes Data Modelling)
• o Java (core)

• Familiarity with the core requirements of data analysis and/or presentation.
• Basic knowledge of Shell Scripting, Linux/Unix commands
• Good to have knowledge of Cloud, BigData, distributed computing
• Good understanding of technical solutions and software patterns (including architectural & design patterns), Methodology, Domain Concepts.
• Knowledge of finance domains, like Payments, Cards, etc.
• Understanding of PCI, PII and other financial security requirements will be preferred
• Automation and reusability/framework driven mindset
• Good understanding & experience with software development processes such as Scrum, preferably SAFe
• Solid experience of working in project teams across geographies
• A record of successful delivery of large software applications as Senior developer
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Focused, innovative, and self sufficient problem solver who is willing to independently and creatively deep dive into an issue, cut to the heart of a problem, and solve it.
