Job summary

Persistent Systems seeks an experienced Data/BI Architect to lead enterprise Power BI architecture, semantic modelling, governance, and BI DevOps. You will work hands-on with Power BI Premium, DAX, Power Query, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and AWS data platforms like Redshift and S3.

Design and implement dimensional models, establish security and governance standards, and build scalable BI solutions. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams in a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience leading enterprise Power BI architecture and governance.
• Expertise in semantic modelling and dimensional data modelling for large-scale BI solutions.
• Proven delivery of multi-year enterprise BI implementations.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement dimensional data models (star schemas, fact-dimension structures).
• Build and govern enterprise-scale semantic models and BI datasets.
• Define modelling standards and apply semantic modelling best practices.
• Architect scalable Power BI Premium solutions for enterprise analytics.
• Develop advanced DAX and optimize performance across models and reports.
• Integrate Power BI with AWS data sources (Redshift, S3) and gateways.
• Establish GitHub-based version control and CI/CD pipelines for BI assets.
• Collaborate with business, data, cloud, and engineering teams to translate requirements.

We are seeking an experienced Data / BI Architect to lead enterprise Power BI architecture, dimensional and semantic modelling, performance optimization, governance, and BI DevOps. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on expertise in Power BI Premium, DAX, Power Query, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, GitHub‑based CI/CD, SQL, data warehousing, and AWS data platforms such as Amazon Redshift and S3.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement dimensional data models, including star schemas and fact-and-dimension structures.
• Mandatory experience in Tabular editor.
• Build and govern enterprise‑scale semantic models, Power BI datasets, reusable measures, and hierarchies.
• Define modelling standards and apply semantic‑modelling best practices using Tabular Editor Best Practice Analyzer.
• Architect scalable Power BI Premium solutions for enterprise analytics.
• Develop advanced DAX and optimize model, report, refresh, and query performance using DAX Studio and Tabular Editor.
• Integrate Power BI with Amazon Redshift, S3, and enterprise gateways.
• Implement object‑level security, row‑level security, governance, compliance, and semantic‑layer standards.
• Establish GitHub‑based version control and CI/CD pipelines for Power BI assets and deployments.
• Collaborate with business, data, cloud, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Stay current with Microsoft Power BI releases, platform capabilities, and industry practices.

Expertise You’ll Bring:

• Power BI Premium architecture, report design, and development
• Enterprise semantic modelling and dimensional data modelling
• Advanced DAX, Power Query, and performance optimization
• Tabular Editor, including Best Practice Analyzer, and DAX Studio
• GitHub version control and BI CI/CD
• SQL and enterprise data warehousing
• AWS services, particularly Amazon Redshift and S3
• Power BI gateways, security, governance, OLS, and RLS
• 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, BI, or architecture roles.
• Proven delivery of large‑scale enterprise BI implementations.
• Basic Python coding knowledge.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on ownership of enterprise Power BI architecture, not only report development.
• Evidence of building semantic and dimensional models used in production.
• Practical performance tuning using DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, and model‑design techniques.
• Implementation of GitHub version control and CI/CD for Power BI assets.
• Experience with Power BI Premium, governance, gateways, OLS/RLS, and AWS data sources.
