Role Overview
We are seeking an mid-level experienced Power Apps + Copilot Developer to lead the modernization of business applications and build AI-enhanced solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform. The developer will analyze existing legacy processes and applications (including forms,XL, workflows, SharePoint solutions, and manual tasks), and redesign them using Power Apps, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Dataverse, and modern Microsoft 365 integrations.
This role requires hands‑on expertise in building enterprise‑grade canvas and model‑driven apps, implementing AI/Copilot experiences, enabling automation with cloud/desktop flows, and integrating external data sources.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Assessment & Analysis
- Review existing business applications, legacy forms, workflows, and manual processes for modernization.
- Analyze dependencies across SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, SQL, APIs,SAP,Oracle,D365 and third‑party systems.
- Identify opportunities to replace older systems (custom scripts, manual workflows, desktop apps) with Power Apps + Copilot‑driven solutions.
- Determine where generative AI or Copilot capabilities can enhance user experience and productivity.
2. Power Apps Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Canvas Apps and Model‑Driven Apps.
- Build advanced UI components, responsive layouts, reusable components, and custom forms.
- Integrate apps with Dataverse, SQL Server, SharePoint, APIs, and custom connectors.
- Implement role‑based security, data validations, and performance optimization techniques.
3. Copilot & AI Integration
- Build and deploy Copilot Studio bots, AI assistants, and conversational workflows.
- Integrate generative AI capabilities (Copilot for Power Apps, Power Automate, and M365).
- Use AI models for summarization, classification, automation triggers, and data extraction.
- Create custom AI plugins or actions to enhance app intelligence and user experience.
4. Automation & Workflow Development
- Build Power Automate cloud flows to support application logic.
- Integrate Power Apps with Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and third‑party systems.
- Implement best practices for error handling, exception management, and logging.
- Develop reusable automation components and connectors.
5. Testing, Deployment & Governance
- Conduct unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing of apps, automations, and copilots.
- Work with business users for UAT, iteration, and final sign‑off.
- Document solution architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.
- Follow Power Platform governance, ALM, and DevOps best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and the broader Power Platform.
- Strong expertise in:
- Canvas Apps and Model‑Driven Apps
- Power FX formulas
- Dataverse tables, relationships, and business rules
- Power Automate connectors and API integrations
- Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Teams)
- Pre‑Built/Custom models and Run Prompt
- Experience using Copilot in Power Apps, Power Automate, or Copilot Studio.
- Strong understanding of Power Platform architecture, licensing models, and environment strategies.
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure AI, Key Vault, API Management (APIM), and Service Bus.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, JSON, and REST APIs.
- Hands‑on experience with custom connectors and integration patterns.
- Proficiency with SQL queries, data modeling, and data integration.
- Ability to design scalable enterprise‑grade apps with complex logic and reusable components.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience modernizing legacy applications (InfoPath, SharePoint Designer workflows, custom scripts, Access apps).
- Familiarity with Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management).
- Previous work with AI integration, generative AI capabilities, or conversational UX.
- Experience with Power BI dashboards integrated into Power Apps.
- Knowledge of RPA tools or automation modernization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-400, PL-600, PL-200, AZ-204).
- Experience with RAG‑based copilots, vector data stores, or generative AI integrations.
- Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
