Job summary

Secure Minds is seeking a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, maintain and operate enterprise PostgreSQL environments including Open Source, EDB and AWS Aurora. You will own installation, configuration, upgrades, replication and recovery, and work with global teams on security, version control and CI/CD integration.

The role requires strong Linux/Unix scripting, tuning and deep PostgreSQL expertise across flavors, plus experience with PEM, Splunk or Dynatrace monitoring.

Qualifications

• Hands-on design, maintenance and administration of Postgres across Open Source, EDB and AWS Aurora
• Deep knowledge of Postgres architecture and internals across flavours
• Postgresql installation and configuration, including EnterpriseDB
• Postgres monitoring and alerting (PEM); familiarity with Splunk/Dynatrace
• Postgres replication technologies — Binary Streaming, XDB, Bi‑Directional Replication
• Diagnostics collection and Postgresql/SQL tuning
• Postgresql procedural languages (PL/pgSQL, PL/Tcl, PL/Perl, PL/Python) and SQL
• AWS Aurora setup/configuration, IAM roles, encryption and auditing
• Backup and recovery planning and execution
• Database version control (Flyway) and CI/CD (Bitbucket/GitHub/Jenkins/Terraform/AWS Lambda)
• Strong Linux/Unix environment and scripting skills

Job description

We're looking for a PostgreSQL Administrator (L3) to own the design, maintenance and administration of enterprise PostgreSQL environments — Open Source, EnterpriseDB (EDB Postgres Advanced Server) and AWS Aurora — across production and cloud estates for a global payments and financial services client.

You'll handle installation, configuration, patching and upgrades, replication (binary streaming, XDB, bi-directional replication), backup and recovery, performance and SQL tuning, and proactive monitoring and alerting (PEM, CloudWatch, Performance Insights). You'll also support database security, version control (Flyway) and CI/CD integration for Postgres platforms, working with teams across multiple geographies.
