Job summary

iEnergizer is seeking a senior Database Engineer to own the Postgres platform, manage AWS RDS and EDB environments, and lead migrations between on-prem and AWS. You will ensure high availability, performance tuning, and robust security in a US-based financial services context.

The role requires extensive PostgreSQL experience, Linux/Kubernetes familiarity, and hands-on tooling with Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD. This is a full-time, office-based opportunity in India.

Qualifications

• 8+ years managing Postgres databases (EDB ecosystem) with 5+ years on cloud (AWS preferred).
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, EDB EPAS, and PGD in production.
• AWS IAM, security policies and access controls for databases.
• Linux (RHEL) and Kubernetes/OpenShift expertise.
• Proficiency in query optimisation, ACID/BASE concepts, and HA patterns.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, migrate, maintain and upgrade PostgreSQL, EDB and AWS RDS databases.
• Run day-to-day operations for EDB, Postgres Distributed (PGD) and AWS RDS: health checks and SOP updates.
• Evaluate patch releases and communicate constraints, issues and timelines.
• Tune Postgres performance through indexing, partitioning and sharding.
• Plan migrations from on-prem to AWS and back.
• Configure high availability with Aurora read replicas and Global Database.
• Plan capacity and assess performance using Performance Insights and RDS KPIs.
• Automate with GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, Terraform, Lambda and Python.

We are hiring a Database Engineer for a leading US-based financial services company. You will be the single point of contact for the Postgres database platform and its escalations. You will design, deploy and run databases on AWS RDS and EDB Postgres for availability, performance and recoverability.

Shift and work mode

• US shift, aligned to Pacific Time (approx. 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST)
• Full-time, work from office

What you will do

• Jira, GitLab, Ansible and Terraform
• Clear verbal and written communication, with client‑facing experience
