As a Pooling Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our temperature-controlled containers are available where and when they’re needed. You’ll manage their end-to-end movement, balancing availability, cost and service requirements while coordinating shipments, documentation, customs and repositioning across regions. You’ll also proactively resolve issues and drive improvements to make our pooling operations more efficient and reliable.
Location: We need this individual to be within commutable distance to Hyderabad, India given it is an on-site position.

Shipment Planning & Execution: Plan, book, and manage shipments from order creation through delivery and empty return, ensuring required documentation is complete and milestones are tracked and escalated
Container Availability & Repositioning: Monitor container stock against demand and forecasts, plan sea/road repositioning, track inbound movements, and proactively upscale potential shortages
Transport Procurement & Cost Control: Source and compare freight options, select cost‑effective and reliable routings, optimise load planning, and provide accurate positioning/pooling costs for billing
Customs & Documentation: Prepare and validate import/export documentation, confirm shipper/exporter arrangements, and coordinate customs clearance, classification, and country‑specific requirements
Systems, Reporting & Communication: Maintain accurate shipment, booking, tracking, and master data in SkyCell systems; provide clear status updates, handovers, and escalations across regions and stakeholders
Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure adherence to customer SOPs, local regulations, and SkyCell standards, while identifying recurring issues and implementing sustainable process improvements
Bachelor's degree, or a completed commercial apprenticeship with relevant experience
Two or more years in freight forwarding, logistics coordination or supply chain operations
Practical experience booking air, ocean and road freight and requesting spot rates
Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs documentation and HS classification
Claude AI skills, including working with data and producing clear reports
Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
Excellent written and spoken English, and a professional manner on email and phone
Good general knowledge of world geography, including major airports and ports
Able to prioritise a high volume of daily requests and consistently meet deadlines
Willing to work rotating shifts in a follow‑the‑sun team and to communicate across time zones
Desirable: Experience with express parcel bookings (e.g., DHL Express) and/or pharmaceutical or temperature‑controlled logistics
