Job summary

Stonex India is seeking an experienced supervisor to manage the polishing-line operations in Kishangarh. The role requires hands-on experience with polishing machines, strong knowledge of process parameters and KPIs, and the ability to coordinate with Maintenance and Production planning teams.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma/ITI/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production and at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in stone processing, with a focus on safety, quality and productivity

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production or a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in production machinery, machine operations or manufacturing, preferably in stone processing.
• Hands-on experience with polishing machines or automated/semi-automated stone finishing equipment preferred.
• Experience in machine supervision, operator handling, production-line management and shift operations.
• Strong understanding of machine performance, preventive maintenance, process parameters and production KPIs

Job description

• Manage and supervise the operation of polishing-line machines to achieve planned production targets.
• Ensure machines are operated as per defined SOPs, operating parameters and manufacturer/process requirements.
• Monitor machine performance, output, speed, pressure, calibration and other relevant process parameters.
• Ensure consistent polishing quality, surface finish, shine, edge quality and dimensional requirements as applicable.
• Plan machine utilization and allocate machines/operators according to production priorities and line capacity.
• Monitor machine availability, breakdowns, stoppages, cycle time and overall equipment efficiency.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance, breakdown resolution, machine servicing and timely restoration of equipment.
• Identify recurring machine problems and support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Control usage of abrasives, polishing pads, compounds, tools and other machine-related consumables.
• Monitor production rejection, rework, wastage and quality deviations arising from machine/process conditions.
• Ensure proper machine setup, changeover and adjustment according to product and production requirements.
• Ensure first-level troubleshooting and timely escalation of technical issues to Maintenance/Engineering.
• Maintain machine-wise production records, downtime records, maintenance observations and shift reports.
• Supervise, train and guide machine operators on machine operation, process parameters, safety and quality requirements.
• Ensure adequate manpower deployment across machines and monitor operator productivity and discipline.
• Coordinate with Production Planning to align machine capacity and production schedules.
• Coordinate with Quality for process-quality issues, inspection feedback and reduction of machine-related rejection.
• Ensure availability of required raw material, abrasives, tools and consumables for uninterrupted machine operation.
• Implement 5S, housekeeping, PPE and machine-safety practices across the polishing line.
• Drive continuous improvement in machine productivity, utilization, finish quality, consumable consumption and operating cost.
