PLM Operations & Maintenance Engineer (Teamcenter / 3DEXPERIENCE)

Location: Chennai & Hyderabad

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced PLM Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise PLM environments, with a primary focus on Teamcenter and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DE) platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, resolving technical issues, supporting users, and collaborating with engineering and development teams to continuously improve PLM operations.

Key Responsibilities

System Monitoring & Maintenance

• Monitor the performance and health of Teamcenter environments, including RAC (Rich Application Client) and Active Workspace (AWC).
• Perform routine system maintenance activities such as service monitoring, release deployments, log reviews, temporary file cleanup, and system health checks.
• Ensure proper functioning of standard and customized PLM components, integrations, and services.
• Manage and resolve support tickets within defined SLA timelines using ITSM tools.
• Investigate and resolve user-reported issues related to data integrity, Teamcenter functionality, custom-developed modules and utilities, and integrated engineering applications such as CATIA, NX, and SolidWorks.
• Analyze application logs, server logs, and system errors to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement permanent fixes and enhancements for complex issues.

User Support & Training

• Provide remote and end-user support for PLM-related queries and technical issues.
• Conduct user demonstrations, knowledge-sharing sessions, and training workshops.
• Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and process documentation for new features and business processes.
• Work closely with Engineering, Business, and Development teams to understand operational requirements and improve system performance.
• Participate in PLM enhancement, customization, migration, and integration projects.
• Provide operational insights and recommendations to improve system reliability and user experience.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering system configurations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and upgrade/deployment records.
• Generate periodic reports on system performance, incident trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5-7+ years of experience in PLM system administration, support, operations, or maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Siemens Teamcenter.

Technical Skills

Teamcenter & PLM

• Strong understanding of Teamcenter architecture, including server-side and client-side components.
• Hands‑on experience with RAC, Active Workspace (AWC), BMIDE, and Teamcenter OOTB utilities.
• Knowledge of engineering change management processes including ECR, ECN, DA, and PR.

Database & SQL

• Strong SQL skills with experience querying and troubleshooting Teamcenter databases.
• Experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Operating Systems & Scripting

• Good understanding of Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience with system administration, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and Batch (BAT) scripting.

Programming & Customization

• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and maintain custom-developed PLM components.

3DEXPERIENCE

• Hands‑on experience with 3DEXPERIENCE administration and support.
• Experience in environment monitoring, maintenance, user issue resolution, and integration with engineering tools, especially CATIA.
