Sunbrilo Technology is seeking a PLC Programmer to design, implement, and maintain automated control systems for diverse industrial processes. You will develop ladder logic, structured text, and function block programs, integrate PLCs with HMI/SCADA, and collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure reliable operation.

You will travel to client sites, analyze existing control architectures, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming across leading brands and systems.
• Experience with ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming.
• Knowledge of real-time debugging, control loop tuning, and signal processing.
• Understanding of Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP and other industrial protocols.
• Ability to design complex control architectures with multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience integrating PLCs with robotics, motion control, and HMI systems.
• Experience with fail-safe strategies and safety considerations.
• Awareness of application security best practices.

The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for automated industrial processes. This role involves writing efficient logic code, integrating systems, and ensuring the optimal performance of machines. The PLC Programmer will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, implement system improvements, and enhance automation efficiency. Their expertise is vital to improving production output and ensuring the reliability of automated systems.

Typical duties and responsibilities

• Design, program, and configure PLC systems for automation equipment to meet operational needs.
• Debug, test, and validate control logic to ensure performance standards are achieved.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate PLCs into broader control systems, including SCADA and HMI interfaces.
• Traveling to clients' locations.
• Meeting with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
• Analyse and optimize existing control logic to improve efficiency, accuracy, and system reliability.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions, identifying and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules and system updates to prevent unplanned outages.
• Manage system backups, maintain version control, and implement safety interlocks to safeguard against system failures.
• Create comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and I/O configurations, to support ongoing system management and troubleshooting.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta or Schneider systems.
• Expertise in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming.
• Experience with real-time system debugging, control loop tuning, and signal processing.
• In-depth understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Ability to design and implement complex control architectures involving multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience integrating PLCs with robotics, motion control, and advanced HMI systems.
• Skilled in conducting system risk assessments and applying fail-safe strategies to ensure safety in high-risk operations.
• Understanding of application security best practices and regulations.
