Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior architect to own end-to-end platform design across backend services, frontend apps, data stores, and cloud infrastructure. You will guide secure microservices, real-time features, and third-party integrations while mentoring teams.

You will interact with clients in pre-sales and onboarding, ensure data privacy compliance, and lead DevOps and CI/CD improvements across AWS, GCP/Azure, and on-prem components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–14 years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years designing and owning system architecture for production-scale apps.
• Experience with HR-tech, staffing, or workforce-management platforms preferred.
• Experience presenting solutions to clients or in pre-sales contexts.
• Strong security, data privacy, and compliance knowledge.
• Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot and AWS, including data modeling with MongoDB/Redis.
• Proficiency in Python and FastAPI; WebSocket-based real-time systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of the platform end-to-end across backend, frontend, data stores, and cloud infra.
• Design scalable, secure microservices and guide architecture reviews.
• Lead integrations with OpenAI, MS Graph, and third-party HRMS/ATS systems.
• Mentor engineers and translate requirements into technical designs and delivery estimates.
• Drive CI/CD, tooling decisions, and maintain architecture docs.

Job description

• Own the technical architecture of the platform end-to-end, including backend services, frontend applications, data stores, and cloud infrastructure


• Design and evolve scalable, secure, and maintainable microservices architecture


• Guide and review Python FastAPI-based AI services and integrations with OpenAI and Vapi


• Define data architecture and access patterns across MongoDB and Redis


• Architect real-time communication features using WebSockets and asynchronous messaging via MSG91 and WhatsApp


• Set technical direction for Angular, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and the Electron desktop application


• Establish observability and monitoring standards using Grafana and Sentry


• Own authentication and identity architecture across Microsoft SSO and related identity providers


• Guide secure use of Microsoft Graph API and Judge0


• Drive build-versus-buy and tooling decisions, manage technical debt, and maintain architecture documentation


• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Maven build processes


• Participate in client discussions and solutioning calls, translating requirements into technical designs and delivery estimates


• Lead integrations with third-party HRMS/ATS systems, including data sync, SSO, webhooks, candidate/employee data exchange, and API/file-based integrations


• Act as primary technical contact for clients on integration feasibility, data security, and architecture questions during pre-sales and onboarding


• Mentor engineers across backend, frontend, and AI teams and conduct architecture/design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field


• 8-14 years of overall software engineering experience


• At least 3+ years designing and owning system architecture for production applications at scale


• Demonstrated experience architecting systems combining backend services, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations


• Prior experience in HR-tech, staffing, recruitment, or workforce-management platforms strongly preferred


• Experience presenting technical solutions directly to clients or in pre-sales/solutioning contexts


• Strong understanding of security, data privacy, and compliance considerations relevant to HR/candidate data
