Job description

Report to the VP Engineering, Converged AdTech & Linear Systems
Lead architecture for critical advertising technology platforms
Own and drive systems automation architecture for core adtech platforms
Improve scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across the ecosystem
Lead architecture spanning converged planning, linear and digital advertising, scheduling, and affiliate distribution
Architect platform rationalization, cloud migration, and next-generation AI/ML-enabled capabilities
Define long-term architecture for AI-powered and agentic systems across large-scale AdTech platforms
Architect autonomous and human-in-the-loop systems for deployment orchestration, infrastructure lifecycle, and incident response
Establish guardrails for safe, observable, and governed AI adoption
Integrate AI capabilities into decisioning, optimization, experimentation, and operations platform layers
Drive standardization of agentic workflows across engineering and operations
Own the design and evolution of foundational platforms
Define architecture for AdOps automation, optimization, identity, data, measurement, and activation platforms
Establish patterns for multi-region, high-availability, and disaster-resilient systems
Drive platform standardization and reduce fragmentation
Transform fragmented systems into a cohesive, converged linear and digital AdTech ecosystem
Identify systemic bottlenecks in latency, data consistency, and cross-platform dependencies
Lead simplification, modernization, and interoperability across legacy and next-generation systems
Evaluate emerging technologies for strategic adoption
Mentor Principal engineers and architects on system design and trade-offs
Establish architectural governance and decision frameworks
Review and approve architecture for high-impact, high-risk systems
Influence execution across organizations without direct authority
De-risk complex programs and ensure architectural integrity
Align engineering, product, and business stakeholders on critical trade-offs

Requirements

15+ years of experience architecting and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms
Proven track record in large-scale ingestion, transformation, and activation pipelines
Experience automating high-availability, high-throughput production environments using AI and agentic architectures
Advanced knowledge of open data Lakehouse formats: Iceberg, Delta, Hudi
Advanced knowledge of distributed compute frameworks: Spark, Flink, Presto
Knowledge of streaming technologies: Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub
Hands-on expertise in cloud-native data design across AWS, GCP, and Azure
Experience with microservices, APIs, and serverless architectures
Demonstrated success modernizing legacy platforms into modular, cost-efficient systems
Familiarity with identity resolution, audience graphs, and cross-platform measurement systems in media, advertising, or adjacent high-scale transaction domains
Deep knowledge of data engineering best practices, CI/CD automation, observability, data lineage, and governance frameworks
Skill in cost modeling, benchmarking, and optimizing large-scale distributed systems for throughput, latency, and cost efficiency
Strong grasp of ad-tech, programmatic ecosystems, ML/AI-driven data products, and privacy-first architectures, including GDPR, CCPA, and VPPA
Experience leading technical evaluations, vendor integrations, and collaborations with third-party data providers, cloud platforms, and open-source communities
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline required
