Job summary

SBS is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the MSS Engineering team. You will design, deploy, and operate scalable, secure, cloud-native platform infrastructure with a strong focus on Oracle databases and IaC.

The role emphasizes automation, AI-enabled enhancements, and modern DevOps practices to improve deployment efficiency and platform reliability across AWS environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong Oracle Database Administration (DBA) experience, including implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience supporting and administering AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or another relevant programming language.
• Experience working within Linux-based environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity and operational effectiveness.
• Document platform architecture, operational procedures, and technical standards.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to team members and stakeholders.

Overview

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our MSS Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, automating, and supporting cloud-based platform infrastructure that powers critical engineering and customer solutions. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Oracle database administration, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern DevOps practices while helping drive the adoption of AI-enabled engineering capabilities across the organization.

The Platform Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and evolving platform services, supporting business-critical operations, improving deployment efficiency, and enabling modernization initiatives including Landing Zone 2.0 readiness and AI-assisted platform delivery.

The ideal candidate combines deep platform engineering expertise with strong Oracle DBA knowledge and a passion for automation, cloud technologies, and emerging AI capabilities. • Experience implementing automation using Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-enabled engineering platforms.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and platform engineering methodologies.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms and mission-critical systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
