Job summary

Siemens AG in Pune, India seeks a Software Engineer Advanced – Support Engineering to design, develop, maintain internal developer tools, and deliver cloud-based platforms with strong automation and CI/CD capabilities.

You will work across Kubernetes, IaC, and GitLab/GitHub to improve developer experience in a global SaaS context, ensuring security and high availability in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 6-8 years of related experience.
• 3 years of SDLC experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, Develop and customize platform to serve as a developer portal for internal teams.
• Integrating different R&D tools and services in platform for seamless developer onboarding experience
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and design the platform accordingly
• Maintain and upgrade OSES platform as per evolving development needs
• Work on container orchestration, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing Kubernetes instances
• Monitor platform performance and ensure high availability
• Use Infrastructure as Code to create automated infrastructure in cloud and on-premise environments
• Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, and monitoring tools
• Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and processes for development, QA, and customer value realization teams
• Manage a service critical codebase with Git including GitLab or GitHub
• Contribute to Operations strategy and maintenance activities
• Maintain a 24x7 global SaaS environment per SLAs
• Ensure production environment adheres to procedures and best practices
• Provide innovative technical solutions and leadership
• Maintain and support current software tools
• Gather requirements from users and incorporate in tools
• Ensure code reviews and unit tests are performed

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software development, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Support Engineering.

In this role, the successful person will create and maintain Internal tools/offering that helps developers build, test, and deploy applications more efficiently and contribute to improve developer experience. Streamline the software development process by automating routine tasks and providing a unified interface for developers to work across different platforms. Meet security compliance and best practice standards and are well documented.Participate in, and sometimes lead, proof of concept and first-of-a-kind activities to validate product concepts.

Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for internal products with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve significant re-architecture of important systems, defining and coordinating implementation of wide-reaching impacts. Acts as Technical lead of major projects within one area of a product. Frequently consults with customers regarding future upgrades and products. Influences the technical direction for one area of a product. Promotes innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into at least one area of a product and to our people. Provides high-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. Provide problem resolution and technical leadership for the group. Education, and Experience

Required Skills

• AWS certification
• Proven experience as a Developer or similar role
• Strong Proficiency in Java, Python and GO
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration platform
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Proficient in API development, including RESTful and GraphQL
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and integration with developer tools
• Knowledgeable in YAML configurations and infrastructure automation
• Hands-on experience with gitlab/github, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Expertise in automation/configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.
• Experience in securing CI/CD pipelines, including secret management, registry scanning, and runtime security
• Ability to adopt and extend continuous integration and testing processes, GitLab/GitHub-CI experience preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
• Ability to manage goals, track milestones and report on status
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

• CICD pipeline tools (Artifactory, SonarQube, Vault, Aqua, Container registry etc.)
• Experience with full-stack development of web interface applications
• Experience integrating monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Knowledge of security best practices for associated tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with design, develop, and configuration of information security tools.
