Job summary

Nuvoco Vistas Corporation (Nuvoco) is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Lead for its Ready-Mix Concrete plant in Goa. The role focuses on running end-to-end plant operations with emphasis on safety, quality and timely delivery of concrete to customers.

The candidate should have 10+ years in construction materials and a background in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, with strong skills in maintenance planning, cost control and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of plant safety, quality and cost control.
• Ability to manage manpower, contractors and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations of the Ready-Mix Concrete plant.
• Ensure safe plant operations with focus on zero accidents, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Plan preventive maintenance and adhere to the plant maintenance schedule.
• Monitor plant breakdowns, calibrations, spares inventory and maintenance costs.
• Drive cost optimization across production, delivery, overheads, manpower and fixed/variable costs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Quality, SCM, Finance, Safety, HR and P&M teams.
• Handle customer service issues and resolve concrete quality concerns.
• Monitor plant profitability, performance, budget and targets.
• Develop and motivate the plant team.
• Ensure statutory and legal compliance for plant operations.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations of the Ready-Mix Concrete plant.
• Ensure safe plant operations with focus on zero accidents, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure production and timely delivery of quality concrete as per customer requirements.
• Plan preventive maintenance and ensure adherence to the plant maintenance schedule.
• Monitor plant breakdowns, calibration, spares inventory and maintenance costs.
• Ensure optimum utilization of Transit Mixers (TM), pumps, manpower and raw materials.
• Monitor raw material planning, reconciliation, inventory and wastage.
• Drive cost optimization, including production cost, delivery cost, overheads, manpower cost, fixed cost and variable cost.
• Ensure statutory and legal compliance for plant operations and coordinate with relevant authorities.
• Coordinate with Sales, Quality, SCM, Finance, Safety, HR and P&M teams.
• Handle customer service issues and coordinate resolution of concrete quality concerns.
• Monitor plant profitability, performance, budget and operational targets.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors and maintain discipline and housekeeping at the plant.
• Develop, train and motivate the plant team.

Candidate Profile

• 68 years of experience in the construction/building materials industry.
• Experience in a Ready Mix Concrete (RMC/RMX) plant is strongly preferred.
• Graduate/Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of plant operations, concrete production, preventive maintenance, safety, quality and cost control.
• Ability to manage plant manpower, contractors, vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong focus on Safety, Customer Service, Cost Control and Operational Excellence.
