Job summary

Deepak Nitrite in India’s Gujarat region (Dahej) seeks a process engineering leader to optimize plant performance and drive safe, reliable operations. You will lead optimization, debottlenecking, and energy/cost reductions while developing technical standards and procedures.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, support startups and commissioning, and mentor shift engineers. A strong background in process engineering and safety is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance parameters to improve yield, productivity, and efficiency.
• Identify and implement process optimization opportunities through data analysis and engineering studies.
• Lead debottlenecking projects to increase plant capacity and operational reliability.
• Develop and update process operating procedures and technical standards.
• Provide technical solutions for process-related production issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process upsets, equipment failures, and quality deviations.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS teams for effective problem resolution.
• Support plant startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Participate in HAZOP, risk assessment, PSSR, and other process safety studies.
• Drive initiatives related to process safety management and safe operating practices.
• Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead process engineering activities for plant modification and expansion projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, process datasheets, and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with consultants, technology licensors, and vendors during project execution.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
• Monitor utility consumption and identify energy-saving opportunities.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives related to raw materials, utilities, and process improvements.
• Benchmark plant performance against industry standards.
• Maintain process engineering documentation, PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances.
• Ensure Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed for all technical modifications.
• Support internal and external audits and compliance reviews.
• Mentor and guide process engineers and shift teams on technical matters.
• Conduct technical training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
