Qualifications

  • Strong forecasting and inventory optimization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on forecasts, orders, inventory, and capacity.
  • Convert demand forecasts into executable production schedules.
  • Monitor plan adherence and resolve scheduling issues with production teams.
  • Optimize machine utilization and throughput.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to understand requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Review orders and prioritize schedules to meet delivery timelines.
  • Participate in S&OP meetings.
  • Generate MRPs and monitor material shortages with Procurement (SAP).
  • Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with Warehouse.
  • Coordinate dispatch with Warehouse and Logistics.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams daily; escalate risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement for forecast accuracy and lean initiatives.

This is a very visible, significant role within the Company. The position will report to the Plant manager. This is an Onsite full-time position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning
    • Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on customer forecasts, sales orders, inventory, and production capacity.
    • Convert demand forecasts into executable production schedules.
    • Monitor production plan adherence and coordinate with production teams to resolve scheduling issues.
    • Optimize machine utilization and manufacturing throughput.
    • Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
  • Demand & Sales Coordination
    • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service teams to understand customer requirements, forecasts, and delivery commitments.
    • Review customer orders and prioritize production schedules to meet delivery timelines.
    • Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings.
    • Monitor demand fluctuations and update plans accordingly.
  • Procurement Coordination
    • Work closely with Procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
    • Generate material requirement plans (MRP) through SAP.
    • Monitor material shortages and proactively initiate procurement actions.
    • Follow up with suppliers and procurement teams regarding critical materials impacting production.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain optimum inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
    • Analyze slow-moving, non-moving, and excess inventory.
    • Monitor stock coverage and recommend inventory optimization initiatives.
    • Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Dispatch & Logistics Coordination
    • Coordinate with Warehouse and Logistics teams for timely dispatch of finished products.
    • Ensure dispatch schedules align with customer delivery requirements.
    • Monitor pending orders and shipment status.
    • Support transportation planning and dispatch documentation.
  • SAP Management
    • Utilize SAP for production planning, inventory management, MRP execution, and reporting.
    • Maintain planning parameters, BOMs, routing data, and master data accuracy.
    • Generate and analyze planning, inventory, and service-level reports from SAP.
    • Ensure timely closure of production orders and inventory transactions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinate daily with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Sales departments.
    • Facilitate communication to minimize production disruptions and order delays.
    • Escalate risks related to material shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive initiatives to improve forecast accuracy and planning efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs and improve service levels.
    • Support implementation of lean manufacturing and supply chain optimization projects.
