Job summary

Equinox Design Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Piping Designer to develop piping layouts and prepare 3D models for EPCM oil & gas projects using Plant 3D, CAD Worx and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include BOM generation, drawing reviews, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has strong piping standards knowledge (ASME/API) and EPC/EPCM project experience, with capability to mentor junior designers and lead a team within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI Draftsman.
• 10+ years of EPCM / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical experience.
• Experience with Plant 3D, CAD Worx, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, API).
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.
• Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and isometrics review.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D piping models using Plant 3D and CAD Worx.
• Produce PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans and equipment layouts.
• Generate BOMs and review drawings for accuracy.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and conduct model reviews.
• Mentor junior designers and lead piping design team.

Job Summary

Responsible for developing piping layouts and preparing 3D models and design deliverables for EPCM oil & gas projects using Plant 3D / CAD Worx and AutoCAD. The role includes generating BOMs, reviewing drawings for accuracy, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, participating in model reviews, and supporting junior designers. Requires strong knowledge of piping standards (ASME/API) and prior EPC/EPCM project experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of 3D models using CAD Worx/Plant 3D software.
• Preparation of design drawings such MFD’s, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Plot Plans, Piping General
• Arrangements. Equipment Layouts and Isometrics.
• Bill of materials generation.
• Review of drawings and designs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Participate in internal and external 30/60/90 model reviews.
• Adherence to electronic filing system, folder structure and file management.
• Regular meetings with the Piping Design Led to ensure all project requirements are being met.
• Effectively communicate the status of tasks, design changes and continuous improvement items to the rest of the design team.
• Maintain proficiency with the most up to date software.
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with team members and project personnel
• Leadership, mentorship, and coordination of junior to intermediate design and drafting personnel
• Overall coordination of a team of Piping Designers
• Mentorship and training of junior 3D design drafting personnel
• Project coordination for drafting and design including input on schedules, man hour estimates and scope of work documents.
• Monitoring and review of P&ID’s, 3D Piping/Equipment/Structural and isometrics.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• EPC work experience is an asset.
• Experience working on North American projects is an asset.
• Design layout of Piping systems.
• Preparation of 3D models using CAD Worx/Plant 3D software.
• Preparation of design drawings for the various disciplines in the company, including Process, Piping and Mechanical.
• General training and guidance of design drafting personnel.
• Extensive knowledge of Plant 3D, specifically piping and equipment modules
• Proficient with AutoCAD
• Knowledge of piping codes and standards like ASME, API etc.
• Fundamental computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry with EPCM design experience
• Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI Draftsman
• 10+ years of experience preferably in EPCM / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical.
