Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) in Chennai seeks an experienced Senior Piping Designer to lead offshore piping design within a tight execution plan. You will ensure design integrity, mentor junior designers, and contribute to layout optimization and MTO reviews.

The role requires 7–20 years of offshore piping experience, proficiency in E3D, AutoCAD and MicroStation, and a Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Direct contract for 1 year with extension possibilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
• 7–20 years of experience in piping design and related responsibilities.
• Experience in offshore/offshore platforms and FPSO projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in E3D, AutoCAD and MicroStation; MS Office skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop unit plot plans/equipment layouts/WHP/Process.
• Lead piping design activities to ensure integrity and timely deliverables.
• Mentor and guide junior designers; support ISO checks and back drafting.
• Perform MTO reviews of vendor packages and layout optimization studies.
• Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Title: Piping Designer Job Posting Description KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value‑added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world‑class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high‑end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for Senior Designer who possess experience in working within the piping design team on Offshore projects and ensuring piping design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project.

****This is a direct contract role with an initial duration of 1 year and the possibility of extension based on business requirements and performance.****

Responsibilities

• Develop unit plot plans/equipment layouts/WHP/Process
• Excellent knowledge in E3D, MS Office, AutoCAD & MicroStation
• Experience in Fixed Platform / FPSO is minimum requirement
• Good knowledge in mechanical handling concepts
• Good Knowledge of support selection and modelling.
• Special support drawing creation is preferable
• Knowledge in PML macros development will be considered an added advantage
• Good knowledge in ISO checking and back drafting and support ISO team on project needs
• Excellent skill to guide young designers
• Good knowledge in conceptual layout study
• Good Communication skills
• Platform/FPSO Layout optimization study
• Preparation of MTO Review of Vendor package

Education
