Job summary

C2C Engineering in Chennai seeks a Piping 3D Checker with extensive experience in drafting, modelling and verification of piping deliverables for chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and Oil & Gas projects.

You will ensure consistency across P&IDs, 3D models and vendor drawings, raise RFIs for missing information, and coordinate with other disciplines to meet schedule and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 10–15 years of drafting and checking piping drawings/models experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
• Ability to read cross-discipline drawings and review vendor drawings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of piping deliverables across isometrics, GA, pipe support drawings and MTO.
• Verify consistency between P&IDs, Line List and 3D models; prepa re layout-based P&ID mark-ups.
• Review vendor drawings and raise RFIs for missing information as needed.
• Collaborate with project groups to coordinate engineering work and ensure schedule adherence.
• Check Isometrics, equipment layout, Navisworks reviews and P&ID alignment.

Standard C2C Engineering needs Piping 3D Checker at our office at Chennai

Job Description

• Ensuring the quality of Piping deliverables viz. Piping Isometrics, Piping GA drawings, Pipe Support drawings, Piping MTO, Piping 3D Models, etc. for Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas projects.
• Ensuring consistency between P&IDs, Line List and 3D model. Preparing layout based P&ID mark-up, etc.
• Ensuring consistency between P&IDs and Equipment Vendor drawings. Vendor document review.
• Have the ability to understand and raise RFI for missing information.
• Should have focus on Schedule, Quality and Productivity.
• Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups/disciplines.
• Should have knowledge of systems, equipment, plot plan, plant layout, and development of project deliverables within the discipline.
• Performs quality control reviews for compliance to Client design standards.
• Performs non-technical drawing reviews for compliance to standards for borders, blocks, text, CAD standards, notes, call-outs, and view requirements to adequately depict the design intent.
• Able to check Isometrics, equipment layout, piping GA Review of models in Navisworks, Review of P&ID, etc.
• Should possess good interpersonal and communication skills

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / Graduate Engineer in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have at least 10 to 15 years of experience in drafting, designing, modelling, and/or checking of Piping Drawings and Models - using AutoCAD 2D for drafting, using AutoCAD Plant 3D (preferred) for modelling, and using Navisworks for 3D design and model review.
• Capable of reading and understanding all the cross discipline design drawings and models.
• Retired engineering professionals with the above experience may also fit-in for this role.
