Job summary

The Hans Foundation (THF) seeks a Mobile Medical Unit driver to operate and maintain the MMU, ensuring safe transport to planned villages following route maps. The role includes daily inspections, record-keeping, and supporting medical staff during camps.

Educational requirements include 10th/12th/Graduation with 2-5 years driving experience and a Heavy Vehicle License. This is a 1-year contractual position reporting to the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of driving experience.
• Heavy Vehicle License (Commercial License).
• Experience in driving ambulance or heavy vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Mobile Ambulance with safety of equipment.
• Move MMU to planned villages and follow route maps.
• Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections.
• Perform maintenance tasks on vehicles when needed.
• Refuel vehicles and record fuel purchases.
• Ensure periodic servicing is completed and reported.
• Maintain the Log Book and defensive driving.
• Keep the Mobile Ambulance clean inside and out.
• Support medical staff during mobile OPD or health camps.
• Assist coordinator and undertake other duties as assigned.

1. JOB PURPOSE

Driving the Mobile Medical Unit and is responsible for movement to planned village according to the route maps and responsible for its maintenance

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Duties include operating and maintaining office Mobile Ambulance with a focus on safety of expensive Equipment’s installed in vehicle;
• Responsible for the MMU movement to the planned village, and route map.
• Performing daily pre-trip and vehicle inspections;
• Performing maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary;
• Filling of fuel in the vehicles; and keep the record of fuel purchased;
• Ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle servicing is completed and reported;
• Maintain the Log Book;
• Maintain defensive driving;
• Keeps the Mobile Ambulance clean inside and outside;
• Serves as a positive role model while working with Medical Staff/ Patient;
• At the start of your duty hours, you would check the vehicle’s brake system, electrical system, lubrication system and cooling system and tyres as well as prepare yourself for emergencies.
• Assist the coordinator health/medical officers during mobile OPD/routine health camps or in time of emergency;
• Undertake any other duties assigned time to by coordinating office management;

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

• 2-5 years of driving experience

• Having knowledge of routes and villages.
