Job summary

The Hans Foundation (THF) invites applications for an ANM/Nurse assigned to a mobile medical unit in East Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The role delivers preventive, promotive and curative care, and involves health education, community counselling and service coordination with local workers.

Accommodation and field allowances may be considered as per project norms. Prior field/clinic exposure of 1–3 years and ANM certification are preferred; English, Hindi and local dialect proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Visit along with MMU to the camp sites as per the plan.
• Coordinate with Anganwadi ASHA workers for effective service delivery when the MMU is in the village and for follow up.
• Provide preventive, promotive and curative health care services under supervision of Medical Officers.
• Conduct individual and group sessions on reproductive health, mother and child health, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases, adolescent health.
• Support in the management of MMU including record keeping, patient flow and medicine distribution.
• Coordinate to refer patients to nearest health facility for secondary treatment and follow up.
• Supervise village health workers and build their capacity.
• Maintain relevant reports and documents.

1. JOB PURPOSE

ANM/Nurse will be responsible for providing preventive, promotive and curative health care services through MMU in the assigned villages. S/he will accompany the mobile medical unit (Van) and will be responsible for providing counselling services to the community and other field leave communication, counselling s and health education support to the programme. S/he will ensure participation of the community. S/he will maintain records of patient registrations and provide health education using IEC materials.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Educational Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Nursing/ ANM training or a related field with good knowledge in public health or hospitals

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)
