Job summary

Apollo Health and Lifestyle (AHLL) in Pune, India, is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform blood collection and ensure patient comfort and safety.

You will label samples, enter data into the EMR, maintain supplies, and support clinical staff, with emphasis on aseptic technique and infection control.

Qualifications

• Blood collection experience.
• Valid MLT certificate.
• Should ready for home collection.
• Report typing.

Responsibilities

• Blood Collection: Perform venipunctures, fingersticks, or heel sticks using sterile techniques and proper equipment.
• Patient Identification: Verify patient or donor identity carefully using identification bands, documents, or electronic records.
• Patient Care and Comfort: Explain procedures clearly, answer questions, and help anxious or nervous patients stay calm.
• Sample Labeling and Tracking: Accurately label all vials and containers with the patient's name, date, time, and test orders, then enter data into a database.
• Specimen Processing and Transport: Prepare, centrifuge (where allowed), store, and transport blood or bodily fluid samples to laboratories under controlled conditions.
• Infection Control and Safety: Follow strict hygiene guidelines, wear protective gear, properly dispose of needles and sharps, and sanitize work stations.
• Administrative and Support Tasks: Maintain stock and inventory of phlebotomy supplies, update EMR, and assist medical staff
