Job summary

Innowell Engineering International in Bangalore is seeking a PHE/FPS Design Engineer with 3-4 years of MEP experience. You will design, draft, coordinate and support execution of PHE and Fire Protection Systems for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with NBC, IS Codes, NFPA and local requirements.

You will prepare hydraulic calculations, drawings and BOQs, collaborate with HVAC, Electrical, and Structural teams, and provide on-site support to resolve design clashes and ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-4 years of experience in MEP design.
• Experience in PHE and Fire Protection systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design PHE and fire protection systems per project requirements and NBC/IS/NFPA standards.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pump head, and water-demand analyses.
• Create schematics, layouts, riser diagrams, and design reports.
• Prepare drawings, BOQs, equipment schedules, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with HVAC, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural teams to resolve clashes and support execution.

Job Title: PHE/FPS Design EngineerIndustry: MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)Location: BangaloreQualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical EngineeringExperience: 3-4 YearsJob SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented PHE/FPS Design Engineer with 3-4 years of experience in the MEP industry. The candidate will be responsible for the design, drafting, coordination, and execution support of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Fire Protection Systems (FPS) for commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems, experience in design calculations, and proficiency in preparation of engineering drawings and project documentation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. PHE & Fire Protection System DesignDesign and develop plumbing, water supply, drainage, storm water, sewage, and firefighting systems as per project requirements and applicable standards.Prepare hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing calculations, pump head calculations, water demand calculations, and equipment selections.Design fire hydrant, sprinkler, hose reel, wet riser, and fire suppression systems in compliance with NBC, IS Codes, NFPA, and local authority requirements.Prepare schematic diagrams, system layouts, riser diagrams, and design reports.
2. Drawings & DocumentationPrepare and review detailed design drawings, tender drawings, construction drawings, and shop drawings using AutoCAD.Ensure accuracy and compliance of drawings with project specifications and design standards.Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), technical submittals, equipment schedules, and material specifications.Maintain project documentation, revisions, and drawing records.
3. Project CoordinationCoordinate with HVAC, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural teams to resolve design clashes and ensure smooth project execution.Participate in design review meetings and provide technical support to project stakeholders.Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients during project execution.
4. Site Support & ExecutionProvide technical support during installation and execution of plumbing and fire protection systems.Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with approved drawings.Assist in resolving site-related technical issues and provide design modifications when required.Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
5. Testing, Commissioning & Quality AssuranceSupport testing and commissioning activities for PHE and FPS systems.Verify system performance, conduct inspections, and prepare commissioning reports.Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.Identify design and execution issues and recommend corrective actions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of PHE and Fire Protection System Design.
• Experience in plumbing, drainage, water supply, sewage, storm water, hydrant, sprinkler, and pumping systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with NBC, IS Codes, NFPA standards, and local statutory requirements.
• Ability to perform hydraulic and engineering design calculations.
• Good understanding of BOQ preparation, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and project documentation.
