Vrinda Global is seeking a PHE & Fire Fighting Design Engineer to undertake plumbing and fire protection system design for Data Centre, commercial and residential projects in Mumbai.

The role requires 3–10 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to develop layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications in line with NBC and NFPA standards.

Candidates based in Mumbai will be prioritized for on-site work.

Job Description - PHE & Fire Fighting (FF) Design Engineer

Experience Required: 3-10 Years

*Location Preference: Candidates currently based in Mumbai will be given preference, as this position is based in Mumbai and requires on-site presence.*

Job Purpose

To undertake Plumbing, Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Fire Fighting (FF) system design and engineering activities for Data Centre, Commercial, and Residential projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

PHE / Plumbing Design

• Design plumbing and public health engineering systems for commercial, residential, and Data Centre projects.
• Prepare plumbing layouts, riser diagrams, schematic drawings, equipment layouts, and design calculations.
• Develop BOQs, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and material requirements.
• Design water storage tanks, transfer pumps, booster pump systems, and associated plumbing infrastructure as applicable.
• Design fire protection and fire fighting systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
• Prepare fire fighting layouts, sprinkler layouts, hydrant systems, hose reel systems, and fire water piping layouts.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and fire pump selection.
• Develop fire fighting riser diagrams, schematics, equipment schedules, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate fire fighting system requirements with fire alarm, electrical, architectural, and other building services teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, NFPA, local fire authority requirements, and project-specific standards.

Mandatory Skills & Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience in PHE, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting system design.
• Hands-on experience in design for Data Centres, Commercial Buildings, and/or Residential Projects.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing layouts, water supply and drainage systems, fire sprinkler and hydrant systems.
• Experience in hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pump selection, and preparation of design drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and preparation of engineering deliverables.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.

Preference: Candidates who have independently handled plumbing & fire fighting system and equipment design calculations, layouts, technical documentation, and coordination for Data Centre, Commercial, or Residential projects.
