Job summary

Apollo Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmacy Aide to support the pharmacist in dispensing medicines and ensuring accurate billing. The role includes stock checks, order placement, and coordination with in-house pharmacies to fulfill prescriptions.

Responsibilities cover patient counseling, home delivery follow-up, cash handling at the counter, and maintaining stock records. Candidates with non-pharmacy qualifications but relevant pharmacy retail experience are eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing drugs according to prescriptions.
• Cross-check issuing medicines with the bill for patient name, items, quantity, expiry; acknowledge the bill.
• Check stock availability and raise indent based on availability.
• Counsel patients on health, drug reactions and maintain good relations with customers/doctors.
• Maintain free home delivery register and follow up deliveries to customers in time.
• Handle inbound calls for drug information, patient counselling and free home delivery orders; respond to queries.
• Handle cash at billing counter as required.
• Store drugs under proper refrigeration and security.
• Prepare bills in computer and verify quantity, MRP, batch number, and expiry before entry.
• Enter stocks in computer and print receipts for cross-checking with stores.
• Transfer stock between nearby pharmacies via BT; coordinate with DC for urgent stock.

Job description

PHARMACY ASSISTANT / PHARMACY AIDE

Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing drugs according to a prescription issued by the doctor. In case the prescribed medicines are not available, arrange the same from the in‑house pharmacies for the honor of 100% prescription. Substitution of medicines is to be consulted with the doctor.

• Cross check the issuing medicines with the bill concerning patient name, items name, quantity, expiry and acknowledge the bill.
• Check the availability of stock in the pharmacy and raise the indent for the stock based on availability.
• Customer Service – counsel the patients/customers on health, reaction of medicines, and maintain good relations with customers/doctors.
• Maintain the free home delivery register and follow‑up the medicines deliveries to customers in time.
• Handle all inbound calls primarily focusing on drug information, patient counseling/education, and free home delivery orders. Handle patient queries and issues concerning drug therapy and drug information.
• Handle cash at the billing counter as and when required.
• Cold Chain Management – store drugs under proper refrigeration and security conditions.
• Prepare bills in computer and collect the cash. Check quantity, MRP, batch number, and date of expiry of the received items from stores before entering into computer.
• Inventory Management & Sales – enter stocks in computer and take the printout of receipt from stores (RS) for cross‑checking with items issue list from stores based on stock availability.
• Import or export stock from nearby pharmacies through BT (Branch Transfers). If stock is not available at nearby pharmacies, communicate with the DC – in charge and visit the DC to collect necessary stock based on urgent needs.
• Maintain records for non‑stock items and follow‑up.
• Ensure 100% physical stock is tallied according to category (Tablets, Syrups, Injections, Fluids, Ointments, Liquids, Capsules, Powders, Drops, Surgicals, and Miscellaneous) twice a week.
• Daily rack‑wise verification of fast‑moving items.
• Ensure shift hand‑over and take‑over before leaving the work area.
• Focus on sales and strive to attain the pharmacy target.
• Perform any other job assigned by the in‑charge as per exigencies of work.
