Job Purpose
To provide high-quality, engaging and experiential Science education that develops students' conceptual understanding, scientific temper, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and curiosity. The teacher will also contribute actively to the residential, pastoral, co-curricular and overall student-development programmes of the School.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred Science lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and School academic plan.
- Teach Science at the assigned level:
- TGT: Classes VI–X
- PGT: Classes XI–XII, in the relevant Science subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or other assigned subject.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, worksheets, presentations and other instructional materials.
- Use innovative, experiential and activity-based teaching methodologies to make Science learning meaningfully and practical.
- Integrate appropriate technology, digital resources, demonstrations and real-life applications into teaching.
- Differentiate instruction according to students' learning abilities and provide appropriate academic support.
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus and effective preparation for Board examinations, where applicable.
2. Laboratory & Practical Work
- Plan and conduct laboratory experiments, practical sessions, demonstrations and project-based learning.
- Ensure that students understand and follow laboratory safety procedures.
- Supervise students during practical activities and maintain proper discipline and safety standards.
- Coordinate with the laboratory staff regarding equipment, chemicals, specimens and other requirements.
- Encourage students to undertake scientific investigations, projects and research-oriented activities.
3. Assessment & Academic Monitoring
- Conduct class tests, periodic assessments, practical examinations an covered other evaluations as per the School's academic calendar.
- Evaluate answer scripts, assignments, projects and practical work objectively and within the stipulated timelines.
- Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
- Analyse student performance and implement remedial and enrichment programmes.
- Provide regular and constructive feedback to students.
- Support students in preparing for CBSE Board examinations, Olympiads, science competitions and other academic programmes, as applicable.
4. Student Mentoring & Pastoral Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor and role model, supporting students in their academic, personal, social and emotional development.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Monitor student discipline, behaviour, attendance and overall well-being.
- Identify students requiring additional support and communicate concerns to the appropriate School authority.
- Guide students in developing scientific thinking, responsible behaviour, teamwork and leadership skills.
5. Residential School Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the residential and pastoral life of the School.
- Undertake assigned house duties, evening supervision, study-hour supervision and residential duties as per the School's roster.
- Monitor students during assigned residential duty hours and ensure their safety, discipline and well-being.
- Participate in House activities, student engagement programmes, excursions, celebrations and residential events.
- Coordinate with House Parents, Wardens and other residential staff regarding student concerns.
- Remain available for assigned residential responsibilities beyond regular teaching hours, as required by the School's schedule.
6. Co-Curricular & Enrichment Activities
- Organise and support Science exhibitions, Science clubs, quizzes, Olympiads, innovation programmes and project-based activities.
- Encourage students to participate in inter-school and intra-school Science competitions.
- Support STEM, innovation, research and experiential learning initiatives of the School.
- Participate actively in School events, celebrations, excursions, educational visits and other co-curricular programmes.
7. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the HOD and fellow teachers for effective curriculum planning and academic delivery.
- Communicate students' academic progress and relevant concerns to parents/guardians through the prescribed School channels.
- Attend departmental, staff, parent and other meetings as required.
- Collaborate with the pastoral, residential and support teams for the overall development of students.
8. Professional & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain all required academic, assessment and student records accurately and within stipulated timelines.
- Follow all School policies, SOPs, safeguarding guidelines, safety protocols and administrative procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent and School information.
- Participate in professional development programmes, workshops, training and capacity-building initiatives.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance the academic quality and reputation of the School.
- Perform other academic, administrative or residential responsibilities assigned by the School authorities from time to time.

Qualification & Experience
For TGT – Science
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in the relevant Science subject from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Relevant teaching experience at the Middle/Secondary level, preferably in a CBSE school.
For PGT – Science
- Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or other applicable Science discipline from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Relevant teaching experience at the Senior Secondary level, preferably in a CBSE school.
- Experience in preparing students for CBSE Class X/XII Board examinations will be an advantage.

The selected candidate will be expected to actively contribute to the academic, pastoral, residential and co-curricular life of the School and undertake duties assigned as per the School's residential schedule.
