Position: PGT Commerce

Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching in Commerce-related subjects, foster academic excellence and holistic development among students, and contribute actively to the academic, pastoral and residential life of the School.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
- Teach Commerce subjects such as Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Legal Studies & Entrepreneurship as per the assigned classes and curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons using innovative and experiential teaching methodologies.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, worksheets, assessments and other academic materials.
- Ensure effective curriculum coverage within the prescribed academic schedule.
- Integrate technology and appropriate digital resources into classroom teaching.
- Cater to different learning abilities and provide additional academic support where required.
2. Assessment & Academic Monitoring
- Conduct class tests, periodic assessments, examinations and other evaluations as per the School's assessment calendar.
- Evaluate answer scripts and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyse students' performance and implement appropriate remedial and enrichment strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate academic progress to parents when required.
- Prepare students effectively for Board examinations and competitive examinations, wherever applicable.
3. Student Mentoring & Pastoral Care
- Act as a mentor and guide to students, supporting their academic, emotional and personal development.
- Maintain a positive, respectful and disciplined learning environment.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or pastoral support and report concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Encourage students to develop leadership, communication, teamwork and life skills.
4. Residential School Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the residential and pastoral life of the School.
- Undertake assigned house/residential duties, evening supervision, study-hour supervision and other duties as per the School's roster.
- Monitor students' discipline, safety, well-being and adherence to residential rules.
- Participate in house activities, student engagement programmes, celebrations, excursions and residential events.
- Maintain appropriate communication with the House Parent/Warden and School authorities regarding student-related concerns.
- Be available for assigned residential responsibilities, including duties outside regular classroom hours, as per the School's schedule.
5. Co-Curricular & School Activities
- Contribute to clubs, societies, competitions, events, workshops and other co-curricular programmes.
- Organise or support Commerce-related activities such as business quizzes, entrepreneurship activities, financial literacy programmes, commerce fairs and simulations.
- Encourage students to participate in inter-school and intra-school competitions.
6. Administrative & Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain required academic and student records accurately and within stipulated timelines.
- Attend departmental, staff, parent and other School meetings as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the HOD to achieve departmental and School objectives.
- Follow all School policies, SOPs, safeguarding guidelines and administrative procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality in all matters concerning students, parents and the School.
- Participate in training, professional development programmes and workshops.

Qualification & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Commerce / relevant subject from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 710 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at the Senior Secondary level.
- Experience in a CBSE/residential school will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with demonstrated Board examination results and experience in teaching Classes XI–XII will be preferred. Role & responsibilities
