Role Summary
As a Performance Test Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, stability, and performance of enterprise healthcare applications across distributed systems and cloud environments. The role involves designing and executing performance tests, analyzing system behavior under load, identifying bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers, and partnering with development, platform, operations, and architecture teams to drive performance improvements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in performance engineering initiatives by leveraging tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, and Splunk to evaluate application performance, improve observability, reduce production risks, and ensure optimal end-user experience across healthcare platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Create workload models, performance test strategies, test plans, and execution approaches for web, API, microservices, and distributed applications.
- Perform Load, Stress, Spike, Endurance (Soak), Volume, Scalability, and Capacity Testing.
- Analyze application performance across web, API, middleware, database, network, and cloud infrastructure layers.
- Leverage Dynatrace, Splunk, and other monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks and conduct root cause analysis.
- Monitor CPU, Memory, Disk I/O, Network, JVM, Thread Pools, Database Connections, and Application Metrics during test execution.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve performance issues and improve application responsiveness and stability.
- Participate in P1/P2 incident investigations and contribute to war-room diagnostics for critical production issues.
- Drive observability improvements through enhanced monitoring, logging, tracing, and alert tuning.
- Identify system bottlenecks and provide recommendations for performance optimization and capacity planning.
- Conduct database performance analysis, query optimization validation, and transaction monitoring.
- Validate performance of APIs, Microservices, Event-Driven Architectures, and Cloud Native applications.
- Execute performance testing within CI/CD pipelines and support shift-left performance engineering initiatives.
- Prepare performance assessment reports, dashboards, trends, and executive-level summaries.
- Contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation and preventive performance improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, SREs, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to ensure performance requirements are met.
- Participate in architecture reviews to identify scalability and reliability risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Support performance benchmarking, capacity forecasting, and production readiness assessments.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare application performance, availability, and reliability requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and/or LoadRunner.
- Experience executing enterprise-level performance testing engagements.
- Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
- Experience working in Healthcare domain applications is preferred.

- Experience in proactive performance monitoring and reliability engineering.
- Certification in LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Azure, or Cloud Platforms is preferred
