Job summary

EdgeVerve Systems is seeking a Performance Engineering Specialist to own the performance roadmap, non-functional requirements, and capacity planning aligned with Infosys delivery frameworks.

You will act as the performance SME during architecture reviews and production RCA, driving KPIs, SLIs/SLOs, and reusable test frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes JVM and middleware optimization across Kubernetes/Docker, API performance, and full-stack observability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with load, stress, spike, endurance and soak testing using JMeter.
• Tuning Java/Spring Boot microservices in Kubernetes/Docker environments.
• Strong focus on performance optimization of middleware, APIs and databases.

Responsibilities

• Define performance roadmap, NFRs, and capacity planning aligned with Infosys delivery frameworks.
• Act as Performance SME during architecture reviews, release go/no-go decisions, and production RCA.
• Drive performance KPIs, SLIs/SLOs, and golden signals for critical services.
• Design and execute load, stress, spike, endurance and soak tests using Apache JMeter.
• Develop reusable test frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle).
• Implement parameterization, correlation, custom samplers, and distributed load generation.
• Hands-on JVM optimization and tuning for Java/Spring Boot microservices on Kubernetes/Docker.
• Optimize Tomcat/JBoss/WildFly, RESTful API performance, and OpenAPI/Apigee policies.
• Tune Oracle and PostgreSQL queries, execution plans, indexing, and connection pooling.
• Drive Kubernetes resource sizing, pod scheduling, and JVM tuning inside containers.
• Debug deployments with kubectl, logs, metrics; optimize deployments in VMware-based environments.
• Implement Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger for full-stack observability.
• Build dashboards and alerts; perform transaction-level latency breakdowns.
• Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and Client Stakeholders for performance sign-off.

• Application & JVM Optimization
• Hands-on tuning for Java/Spring Boot microservices deployed on Kubernetes/Docker.
• Expertise in JVM internals (GC algorithms, heap, thread scheduling) and tools like JFR, JMC, VisualVM.
• Analyze thread contention, GC pauses, memory leaks, CPU hotspots; recommend code-level optimizations.
• Middleware & API Performance
• Optimize Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly for thread pools, connection pools, async processing.
• Govern RESTful API performance, OpenAPI contracts, and Apigee API Gateway policies for scalability and security.
• Database Performance Engineering
• Tune Oracle/PostgreSQL queries, execution plans, indexing strategies, and connection pooling.
• Correlate DB metrics with application and infrastructure telemetry.
• Cloud & Container Performance
• Drive Kubernetes resource sizing, pod scheduling, and JVM tuning inside containers.
• Debug using kubectl, logs, metrics; optimize deployments for VMware-based environments.
• Observability & APM
• Implement Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger for full-stack observability.
