Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a QA Performance Automation Engineer to join our Enterprise Software RD team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications, working with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and validate system behavior under load.

You will design and execute performance tests with Apache JMeter, run API tests via Postman, and monitor systems with Grafana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering with 3–6 years in performance testing.
• Hands-on with Apache JMeter and load/stress/endurance testing.
• Experience with API testing (Postman) and SQL database performance analysis.

Job Summary

Hitachi Energy is looking for a QA Performance Automation Engineer to join our dynamic Enterprise Software RD team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications through comprehensive performance testing and analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, DevOps, Product Management, and Architecture teams to identify performance bottlenecks, validate system behavior under load, and contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions to customers. As a QA Performance Automation Engineer for the Enterprise Software RD Unit, you will be part of the respective local department and report to the RD Team Manager.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter.
• Analyze application performance under various load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability scenarios.
• Create and execute API performance tests using Postman and integrate them into performance test workflows.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance using Grafana and other monitoring tools.
• Identify performance bottlenecks across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to diagnose and resolve performance-related issues.
• Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations for system optimization.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports with findings, trends, risks, and recommendations.
• Participate in test planning, requirement reviews, and system architecture discussions from a performance perspective.
• Continuously improve performance testing processes, frameworks, and automation capabilities.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable quality standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background Must have

• Required bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 3 to 6 years of experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• Experience designing and executing Load, Stress, Spike, Endurance, and Scalability tests.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Hands-on experience with Grafana for monitoring and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of application performance concepts, methodologies, metrics, and bottleneck analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of SQL and database performance analysis.

Good to have

• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration, Linux, monitoring tools, and performance test automation will be a plus.
