Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to join our India team, focusing on web application performance, monitoring, and optimization. The role involves scripting with JMeter/LoadRunner, Linux fundamentals, and working within Agile teams to deliver robust tests.

You’ll contribute to CI/CD pipelines, handle large-scale distributed systems, and leverage Splunk and APM tools to diagnose and improve performance across cloud-based infrastructure including Azure, Docker, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of performance testing and monitoring web applications.
• Proficiency with JMeter and LoadRunner for test scripting and execution.
• Strong scripting abilities to customize performance tests.
• Knowledge of Linux fundamentals and diagnosing system utilization.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and documentation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for performance testing.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and data volumes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and maintain performance test scripts and scenarios.
• Analyze performance metrics and diagnose bottlenecks in web apps.
• Collaborate in Agile teams and contribute to test documentation.
• Work with cloud-based infra (Azure) and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Leverage log tools (Splunk) and APM tools (Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog).

Job Description:

• 5+ years of Performance Testing/Monitoring of Web Applications
• Jmeter, Loadrunnner.
• Proficiency in various scripting techniques, develop custom codes for enhancing and customizing performance testing scripts and scenarios using Jmeter where applicable
• Possess good knowledge in network and cutting edge technologies
• Demonstrate excellent Linux fundamentals and solid understanding of diagnosing system utilization
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• Possess excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence others
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline for performance testing
• Experience with Performance test framework development and automation
• Experience working with large scale distributed systems & large data volumes
• Experience with some of the following technologies and services:
  • Cloud based Infrastructure as a Service (especially Azure)
  • Container based service schedulers (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • MySQL, Java, Python
  • Perf testing tools (Jmeter)
