Job description

About Megaport

We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia‑Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We’re committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

The Role

Based out of our Gurugram office in India, the People Partner will report to the Head of People & Culture. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our growing India team following a recent acquisition. Working closely with local leaders and employees, you'll help ensure a positive employee experience while partnering with the global People & Culture team to integrate people practices, simplify processes and align local operations with Megaport's global frameworks where appropriate.

You’ll collaborate with leaders across APAC, NAM, and EMEA regions to support Megaport's growth. You'll lead, coach, and engage stakeholders, and support the execution of both strategic HR initiatives and day-to‑day operations.

What You’ll Be Doing
Business Partnering & Post‑Acquisition Integration
  • Own the People Partnering relationships for assigned business groups, delivering commercially balanced people advice that aligns people strategy with business priorities.
  • Partner with the global People team to transition local people practices into scalable global frameworks while ensuring compliance with local legislation and market practices.
  • Provide practical, commercially balanced HR advice that supports business objectives while maintaining a positive employee experience.
  • Coach leaders through organisational change, team development, performance conversations and employee engagement.
  • Build manager capability by providing guidance, coaching and practical tools that enable confident people leadership.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, talent development, succession planning and organisational design as the business evolves.
Employee Relations & Local Compliance
  • Act as the trusted advisor on employee relations matters within India, including performance management, conduct, grievances and workplace conflict.
  • Ensure employment practices comply with Indian employment legislation while aligning with Megaport's global policies wherever appropriate.
  • Partner with Legal and the global People team to manage employment‑related risk and complex workplace matters.
  • Support the ongoing harmonisation of employment terms, payroll, policies and practices following the acquisition.
Process Improvement & Global Alignment
  • Work closely with the global People & Culture team to streamline local HR processes and improve consistency across the employee lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and enhance people processes while recognising local business and legislative requirements.
  • Support the implementation of global People initiatives, systems and programmes within India.
  • Contribute to People projects that support business growth, operational excellence and employee experience.
Employee Experience & People Programs
  • Champion a positive employee experience by supporting employees through post‑acquisition integration and beyond, driving ongoing engagement and organisational effectiveness.
  • Support onboarding, engagement, recognition, wellbeing and development initiatives for the India team.
  • Foster an inclusive culture that reflects both Megaport's values and the strengths of the local business.
  • Gather employee feedback and partner with leaders to continuously improve engagement and organisational effectiveness.
Collaboration with the Global People Team
  • Work collaboratively with People Partners across the business to share knowledge, align practices and deliver consistent employee experiences globally.
  • Contribute to global People & Culture initiatives, projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support other regions where required and participate as an active member of the global People team.
What We Are Looking For

  • 5–10 years' experience in a People Partner or Senior HR Generalist role, within fast‑paced organisations.
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders in India, with a strong understanding of Indian employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, business transformation or post‑acquisition integration activities is highly desirable.
  • Experience partnering with global or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters and providing pragmatic, commercially balanced advice.
  • Experience within technology, SaaS or other high‑growth organisations is highly regarded.
Skills & Capabilities
  • Strong HR business partnering and relationship‑building capability.
  • Excellent knowledge of Indian employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Ability to balance local business needs with global people frameworks and governance.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills with the confidence to support leaders through change.
