Job summary

Astrobase Space Technologies is seeking a skilled PCB Designer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience to design, develop, and optimize PCBs for aerospace and high-tech applications. The role requires proficiency in CAD tools, design for manufacturability, and close collaboration with hardware engineers.

The ideal candidate will excel in high-speed design, impedance control, and thermal management, with familiarity with IPC standards and DFM/DFT practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• 4–5 years of PCB design experience.
• Proficient in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, KiCad.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed design, impedance control, and thermal management.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600).
• Experience with DFM/DFT and collaboration with manufacturing teams.
• Good analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Attention to detail and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-layer PCB layouts based on schematic inputs and engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Optimize PCB designs for manufacturability, assembly, and testing.
• Create and maintain design documentation, Gerber files, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Work closely with vendors and fabrication houses to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PCB-related issues during prototype and production phases.
• Stay updated with industry standards, IPC guidelines, and emerging PCB technologies.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled PCB Designer with 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing printed circuit boards for aerospace, electronics, or high‑tech applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CAD tools, design for manufacturability, and cross‑functional collaboration with hardware engineers.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 4–5 years of professional experience in PCB design.
• Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, KiCad.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed design, differential pairs, impedance control, and thermal management.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600, etc.).
• Experience with DFM/DFT principles and collaboration with manufacturing teams.
• Good understanding of analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuit design.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.

Preffered Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or high‑reliability electronics domains.
• Knowledge of flex‑rigid PCB design and advanced packaging techniques.
• Exposure to simulation tools for signal integrity and thermal analysis.
• Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or other quality standards.
