Job summary

Exponent Energy in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced PCB design engineer to build and maintain component libraries—footprints and schematic symbols—for new and existing parts. You will design and document complex PCBs per IPC standards, review layouts with EMS partners, and manage BOMs and engineering inputs for manufacturing readiness, with a focus on signal integrity and EMI/EMC considerations.

ROLE

• Build and maintain component libraries — footprints and schematic symbols — with CIS database management for new and existing parts
• Design and document complex printed circuit boards conforming to IPC and industry standards from schematics, parts lists, and functional requirements supplied by the electrical and mechanical design team
• Generate all documentation required for release and production of PCB designs and provide subsequent manufacturing support
• Establish PCB design standards, procedures, and guidelines, and assist with file maintenance and configuration control
• Review layouts against fabrication and assembly constraints, and resolve design‑related engineering queries with EMS partners
• Manage bills of materials and component engineering inputs for ordering

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 to 5 years of experience in PCB design and related domain
• B.Tech/M.Tech/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Full working knowledge and hands‑on experience designing PCBs end‑to‑end using OrCAD/Allegro
• Solid understanding of signal integrity and power integrity principles and their impact on layout, stack‑up, and routing decisions
• Experience designing for EMI/EMC compliance
• Ability to deliver IPC‑qualified PCBs and adhere to IPC standards
• Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with sourcing and new product development teams
• Good to have: understanding of PCB assembly process at EMS partners
• Good to have: interest in applying AI‑assisted tools to PCB routing and design automation
