Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a PCB Design Engineer in Chennai, India, to execute high-quality multi-layer PCB layouts meeting electrical, thermal, and manufacturability requirements. You will draft schematics, interpret BOMs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity.

The ideal candidate has a BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics and 9–12 years of experience with Cadence PCB Editor or OrCAD Capture, with strong knowledge of layout fundamentals and signal/power integrity

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required.
• 9–12 years of relevant experience in PCB design.
• Strong proficiency with PCB layout tools and analysis concepts.

Responsibilities

• Electronic schematic drafting.
• High quality multi-layer PCB layout design meeting electrical, mechanical, thermal and manufacturability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirement gathering.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, cable drawings, system interconnects and BOMs.
• Document and release drawings and BOMs using engineering change management.
• Support design reviews and resolve quality issues.

PCB Design Engineer

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Years of Experience: 9-12 years of relevant experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Electronic Schematic drafting.
• Responsible for high quality multi-layer PCB layout design that meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturability requirements.
• Work closely with cross functional team for requirement gathering
• Conduct and participate in PCB design review
• Read and interpret Electrical schematics, cable drawings, system interconnects and BOMs.
• Document and release Engineering drawings & bill of materials using Engineering Change Management.
• Provides resolution to Design and documentation quality issues, Problem Reports / Supplier Build issues.

Mandatory Skills required to perform the job

• Very strong in electronic schematic drafting.
• Strong knowledge of PCB layout fundamentals.
• At least 3+ years of working experience in Cadence PCB editor, ORCAD capture.
• Proficient with one of the Product Life Cycle Management tools (Document Change and Release Management tools like Team Center and SAP PLM).
• Well versed with interpretation of Electronic/Electrical schematics and Design specifications.
• Good experience in Stack up preparation, Trace width calculation
• Exposure to Signal Integrity and/or Power integrity tool and basic understanding
• Understanding of PCB design Thermal aspects

Desirable Skills

• Should have good communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment industry.
• Basic knowledge on Electronic Components selection and circuit theory.
• Familiar with PCB standards like IPC2221 or similar.
