Job summary

TGBPL TP India - GBS is seeking a Payroll Specialist to design and ensure compliant payroll processes, including calculation of gross and net pay, and maintaining payroll records. You will handle data verification, compliance with payroll legislation, and respond to employee inquiries.

The role requires about 1–2 years in payroll with a professional/university degree, and you may lead junior colleagues to ensure day‑to‑day operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Fully proficient in executing established payroll standards.
• Works independently within set parameters and follows established processes.
• Possesses a knowledge base from a professional or university degree and 1–2 years of practical professional experience in payroll.
• Develops own knowledge, shares best practices, and creates relevant and appropriate solutions.
• Demonstrates continuous improvement of day‑to‑day activities and processes.
• Can serve as a formal team leader for junior co‑workers and set day‑to‑day operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Calculating gross and net pay amounts (salary, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.)
• Maintaining payroll‑specific records (changes in wage/salary rates, pension, insurance, mandatory deductions, new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc.)
• Reconciling payroll records (payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages)
• Verifying and administering payroll data
• Monitoring and managing payroll legislation compliance
• Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters
• Maintaining records on vacation, sick leave, and other leave types as required
