Job summary

Teleperformance is seeking a Payroll Specialist in India to design and ensure compliance with payroll processes, including calculations of gross and net pay and maintenance of payroll records.

The role involves validating payroll data, reconciling records, and ensuring adherence to payroll legislation while supporting employees and supervisors on payroll matters. A professional or university degree and 1–2 years of payroll experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fully proficient in executing established payroll standards.
• Works independently within set parameters and follows established processes.
• Possesses a knowledge base from a professional or university degree and approximately 1–2 years of practical professional experience in payroll.
• Develops own knowledge, shares best practices, and creates relevant and appropriate solutions.
• Demonstrates continuous improvement of day‑to‑day activities and processes.
• Can serve as a formal team leader for junior co‑workers and set day‑to‑day operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Calculating gross and net pay amounts (salary, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.)
• Maintaining payroll-specific records (changes in wage/salary rates, pension, insurance, mandatory deductions, new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc.)
• Reconciling payroll records (payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages)
• Verifying and administering payroll data
• Monitoring and managing payroll legislation compliance
• Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters
• Maintaining records on vacation, sick leave, and other leave types as required
