Job summary

Qualifications

  • BBA in Human Resources from a reputed institute.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a multinational or complex organization.
  • Experience managing payroll operations and employee benefits in India.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, MS Excel and related systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and employee data management.
  • Knowledge of India payroll statutory requirements and benefits practices.
  • Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
  • Exposure to process improvement, standardization, or HR operations transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Administration: Support end-to-end payroll processing for employees in India in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Validate payroll inputs including new hires, exits, promotions, transfers, salary revisions, variable pay, leave adjustments, reimbursements, and deductions.
  • Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy prior to final submission.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll is processed in accordance with defined timelines.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and support month-end closing activities related to payroll.
  • Maintain payroll records, reports, and audit documentation in line with internal controls and record retention requirements.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs in India, including enrollment, changes, exits, and ongoing employee support.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers & internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of benefits programs.
  • Support communication of benefits offerings, policies, and employee enrollment processes.
  • Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure data integrity across HR and payroll systems.
  • Assist in benefits billing validation, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Support annual benefits renewal activities and periodic program reviews.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure payroll & benefits processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, & internal company policies.
  • Support statutory compliance activities related to payroll, including filings, deductions, and reporting.
  • Assist with internal & external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Identify process risks, control gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and handle sensitive information with a high degree of integrity.
  • Reporting and Process Improvement: Prepare regular and ad hoc payroll and benefits reports for HR, Finance, and management stakeholders.
  • Analyze payroll and benefits data to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support system testing, process documentation, and implementation of payroll or benefits changes.
  • Contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across payroll and benefits operations.

Job Summary

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing and benefits administration for employees in India.
