Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bengaluru seeks a Payroll Analyst/Associate to support end-to-end payroll for a large, multi-location workforce. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll processing with complex salary structures and shiftbased allowances.

The candidate will validate inputs, manage F&F settlements, and handle statutory filings, audits, and data reconciliation in HRMS systems such as Workday or Oracle. A master’s degree and 2–3 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Commerce/Finance/Business Administration (preferred).
• 2-3 years of experience in Indian payroll processing, preferably with a larger MNC.
• Exposure to handling large employee base and complex salary structures.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End payroll execution including inputs validation (new joiners, exits, increments, bonuses, overtime, shift allowances).
• Manage Full & Final settlements (F&F), leave encashment, gratuity and recoveries.
• Ensure statutory compliance with PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS and other filings; support audits.

Job Description Overview

The Payroll Analyst / Associate will play a critical role in supporting end-to-end payroll processing for a dynamic workforce in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment. The individual will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payroll while managing complexities such as shift-based workforce, variable components, statutory adherence, and audit readiness.

Your role

End-to-End Payroll Execution:

Support processing of monthly payroll cycles including validation of inputs such as new joiners, exits, increments, bonuses, overtime, and shift allowances. Manage Full & Final settlements (F&F) including leave encashment, gratuity, and recoveries. Validate payroll outputs ensuring alignment with company policies and statutory norms.

Statutory Compliance & Governance:

Ensure compliance with Indian labour and payroll regulations including: Provident Fund (PF). Employee State Insurance (ESI). Professional Tax (PT). Labour Welfare Fund (LWF). Income Tax (TDS). Support statutory filings, reconciliations, and returns. Assist in responding to internal/external audits and compliance reviews. Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for payroll transactions.

Data Management, Validation & Reporting:

Perform data validation and reconciliation of payroll inputs/outputs. Prepare and analyse payroll reports, variance analysis, and MIS dashboards. Maintain payroll trackers, master data, and employee records in HRMS/payroll systems. Support cost analysis and budgeting inputs related to employee compensation.

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate closely with HRBPs, Finance and Operations teams for payroll inputs and validations. Address employee payroll queries related to salary, taxation, and deductions. Ensure seamless coordination for high employee volume and multi-location payroll processing.

Process Improvement & Automation:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within payroll operations. Support implementation/enhancement of payroll systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle). Contribute to standardization of payroll processes and SOP documentation.

About you

Education:

Master's degree in Commerce / Finance / Business Administration (preferred).

Experience:

2-3 years of relevant experience in Indian payroll processing, preferably with bigger MNC. Exposure to handling large employee base and complex salary structures.

Technical & Functional Skills:

• Strong understanding of: CTC structuring, earnings, deductions, reimbursements.
• Statutory components and compliance frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, reconciliation).
• Hands-on experience in payroll/HRMS systems (Workday / Oracle preferred).
• Experience in payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audit support.
