Key Responsibilities

• Posting Payments: Electronically or manually posting payments from insurance companies (EOBs) and patients to the correct accounts and line items.
• Reconciliation: Balancing payment batches against bank deposits and ensuring all received funds are accounted for.
• Denial & Adjustment Handling: Applying contractual adjustments and correctly posting denials for further action.
• Account Updates: Updating patient balances and generating statements for patient responsibility.
• Error Resolution: Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies or posting errors.
• Reporting: Identifying payer trends and reporting issues to accounting.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Accuracy & Detail-Oriented: Critical for handling financial data.
• Computer Proficiency: Experience with practice management software (e.g., Allscripts), Windows, and email.
