Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker / Fashion Designer with a strong background in women’s ready-to-wear and couture fashion. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in pattern making, draping, garment construction, and quality control. This is a hands-on role requiring leadership in managing a team of tailors and ensuring high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate patterns for women’s wear (dresses, jackets, pants, skirts, etc.).
• Create patterns from draping and execute manual grading for different sizes.
• Oversee garment fitting sessions and make necessary alterations.
• Prepare technical specification sheets and ensure clear communication with production teams.
• Conduct garment quality control to meet luxury standards.
• Supervise and manage a team of tailors to ensure timely production.
• Collaborate with the design team to translate creative ideas into finished garments.
• Maintain proper documentation of patterns and technical details.
• Use basic computer applications (e.g. spreadsheets, MS Office) for reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in ready-to-wear and couture fashion design / pattern making.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in pattern development for western womenswear.
• Strong skills in draping, grading, and garment construction.
• Proven experience in managing production teams / tailors.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Proficiency in preparing specification sheets.
• Knowledge of fabric properties, cutting, and finishing techniques.
• At least 2 professional references from previous employers.
