Job summary

Applied Materials India is seeking a skilled Purchasing Account Team Buyer to join the purchasing group in Bangalore. The role focuses on supplier operational management, coordinating with planning and engineering to maintain inventory levels and ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in purchasing, SAP MM expertise, and strong Excel and English communication skills to manage supplier relationships and internal customer expectations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred)
• 6+ years of purchasing experience
• SAP MM expertise required

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier operational activities including forecasts, POs, FGIs, ECOs, obsolescence, MRP actions, transitions, repairs, service agreements, and on-time delivery
• Coordinate purchasing activities with planning and engineering to maintain planned inventory
• Lead supplier quality activities with manufacturing and engineering
• Expedite escalations to ensure timely receipt of materials
• Drive problem resolution for material accounting and receiving issues
• Provide input to management on suppliers and material status and long-term issues

We are looking for a highly talented Purchasing account Team buyer to join our purchasing team.

Our Group:

Joining the material group owning suppliers operational aspects to support our tools around the world.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Supplier’s operational management (Forecast & POs, FGIs, ECOs, obsolete, MRP actions, transitions, Repairs, service agreements, OTD, etc)
• Coordinates/drives purchasing activities with planning and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Leads supplier’s quality activities in collaboration with manufacturing and engineering departments
• Expedite escalations to ensures timely receipt of materials.
• Practice management without authority
• Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues
• Provides input to management regarding suppliers and material status, action plans and address long term issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher education in relevant field preferred Engineering - Mandatory
• Experience: >6 Years in Purchasing - Mandatory
• SAP MM expertise - Mandatory
• Knowledge of working with OFFICE systems (especially Excel)
• Ability to work and deal with many information systems.
• Service- oriented, experienced with suppliers and internal customers
• Independent, team player with high negotiation skills
• High level English (writing, speaking and reading)
• Excellent presentation skills
• Program management experience
• Commercial orientation
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Great interpersonal skills
